ME AND HOPE
Thank you for visiting The Dawning of Hope! My name is Dawn, and I'm called to be a hope-speaker. This site is just another way for me to share hope to those in need. As a child, I wanted to be a neurosurgeon. My dad was paralyzed for several years and from that, I gained a desire to give people the hope of walking again. As I discovered God's purpose for my life, it was to give people hope, but it was by sharing the Hope of Jesus so others could keep walking in a dark world. I do that however the opportunity comes - discipleship/mentoring classes, teaching, preaching, leading, or wherever I am including Wal-Mart and the hair salon. (I'm sure those stories will come out soon enough!) Writing is my newest avenue. It's my desire for the written word of hope to be spread through this blog and my current book/bible study project. Hope has no limits, and I pray these written words far surpass my physical sphere and continue on to encourage as many as can read or hear them.
I currently serve alongside my husband pastoring at South Cleveland Church of God in Cleveland, TN where I lead an amazing group called Arise Women. I am a credentialed minister in the Church of God who loves to see people grow and be changed through the love of Jesus.
I have a crazy, full, and abundant life with my hero-husband, three awesome kids, son-in-law, and Higgins the dog topped off with with a big, fun extended family and a church full of great people. I enjoy running and have a life-time goal to run a marathon in all 50 states. Twelve are done plus another country; just 38 more to go! I'm a Texas girl who loves Tennessee and all its beauty. Give me a warm summer day on a cool Tennessee river with my people, and all is bliss.
I'm the author of "I Can, I Will", which is available in paperback, e-book, audiobook, and in Spanish. I love to travel and have an ever-growing bucket list of new places to visit, but my favorite spot is my back porch. I love to try new foods, but will always love a good homemade hamburger made by my favorite cook, my man. I love pretty much anything with peanut butter with Reeses Peanut Butter Cups being numero uno. (You are automatically my friend if you bring me one!) I am the game queen and buy a new one (or two or three) every Christmas. I keep Post-It-Notes in business and celebrate my birthday all month! I love life; I love people; I love Jesus; and it's my desire for others too as well!
